POWER SETTINGS TABLE:

I often see questions about power settings and configuration. Every plane should have a section of its Pilot’s Operating Handbook (POH) that covers this topic. I highly recommend consulting with an Instructor and creating a power chart in excel for your specific bird. You can then print this chart, laminate it, and bind it to your checklists. I have included mine as an example:

WEIGHT AND BALANCE TABLE:

Another common topic that is critical to safety, legal compliance, and airman knowledge is weight and balance. Again, consult with a instructor in depth on this topic. I have recreated an easy weight and balance table in excel and limitations chart straight out of my Pilot’s Operating Handbook. This is a great exercise before a checkride as It requires familiarity with your POH and you need a presentable weight and balance for your practical test.
